British F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, previously associated with brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and IWC, has now signed with a major luxury label. The seven-time F1 world champion has been named the brand ambassador for Dior’s menswear and has collaborated with Creative Director Kim Jones as a “guest designer” to create a lifestyle capsule collection focused on skiing, snowboarding, and other board sports.
“We share a love of nature, the desire to celebrate Africa, and a passion for the techniques and creative methods that link African artists with the expertise of Dior’s ateliers. This collection also reflects Lewis’s sporting spirit, his unrivaled ability, and our striving for excellence combined with functionality and an unwavering eye for details,” said Jones in a press release.
The elegant yet functional collection will be available from 17th October in stores and on Dior’s e-shop. It includes high-performance Japanese fabric skiing trousers and jackets, jeans, knitwear, sweaters, sweatshirts, fleeces made partly with bio-sourced and recycled fabrics, and casual tweed suits.
