A US $ 1 billion investment could be drawn to the Satkhira Economic Zone, according to Shaikh Yusuf Harun, executive chairman of the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA) on Thursday.
“At least six thousand direct employment opportunities will be created through this investment in the zone,” he added.

An additional economic zone is being developed in the Batiaghata upazila of Khulna, with 262 acres of land provided by the Satkhira district administration.
