Be You! That’s Boohoo’s new community programme which marks the next stage in the e-tailer’s plans to give back.
The British online retailer has said that it will be committing 1 per cent of pre-tax profits to support and empower individuals to live more confidently and realise their full potential in the future.
In its efforts to initiate this commitment, Boohoo has now joined hands with Everfi to launch a mobile-first education resource.
The move is also seen as an effort on the part of the e-tailer to help the youth build their understanding of data skills.
The strategic alliance will be rolled out in 40 secondary schools across London, Manchester, Daventry, Burnley and Wellingborough, with a focus on reaching youth from under-represented communities.
Notably, the Data Science Foundations course gives 14-16-year-olds knowledge about the fundamentals of data science, its currency in the job market and its application to everyday life.
It helps provide a simple and straightforward understanding of statistics and computer science – in addition to providing vast range of job opportunities within the e-commerce sector, be it IT, merchandising, logistics, marketing and more.
Importantly, Data Science Foundations comes at no cost.
