Few of the NGOs, funded by Pakistan, are lobbying against Indian textile and clothing industry alleging child labour. It has been said by ministers’ panel in its report.
The report insists on the need to ‘find ways to counter such negative campaigning’ and ensure ‘proper lobbying for Indian products’.
A Group of Ministers (GoM), chaired by Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Prahlad Joshi, has discussed strategies to counter false propaganda/negative campaigns.
The report, submitted few months ago to the Government, says, “NGOs funded by Pakistan are undertaking negative propaganda, alleging child/forced labour in Indian textile and clothing sectors, and lobbying against sourcing from India, particularly in the European Union and China, so that importers are discouraged to import from India.”
It is also pertinent to mention here that as per a report of BBC, Pakistan’s apparel and home furnishing export industry got the advantage as India was facing lockdown and Indian factories were closed for almost 2 months.
