While many fashion brands and labels are contemplating on slowing down the fashion cycle by improving schedules, Camera dellaModa’s Carlo Capasa has said that Milan fashion week will continue with the conventional schedules with no plans to alter the dates.
Camera dellaModa is the organising body of Milan fashion week and while many of the world’s prominent Italian brands like Gucci have announced their exit from the fashion season, Carlo seems firm on the plan.
While talking to Fashion Network he explained that menswear and womenswear are 2 different industries with different buyers, retailers and manufacturers, and while he doesn’t mind a co-ed fashion show, he believes in a balance between both.
Earlier this week, Gucci announced their exit while bands like Dries Van Noten, Thom Browne, Troy Burch and Craig Green have called out the ineffective and irregular fashion week schedule.
BFA and CFDA have also joined hands to bring the pace of fashion down as the pandemic offered everyone a chance to introspect.
