Shima Seiki is all set to participate in the upcoming A+A 2019 Safety, Security and Health at Work International Trade fair in Düsseldorf, Germany next month.
The technology pioneer will be showcasing its technological innovations in various fields and applications.
One of the major highlights at the event will be company’s SWG091N2 compact WHOLEGARMENTR knitting machines featuring Shima Seiki’s original SlideNeedleTM technology.
Exhibited in 15 gauge, proposals for ultrafine gauge WHOLEGARMENTR application will be made for safety accessories in the workplace. At the event, the machine will be demonstrating the making of cut-resistant uppers for ‘tabi’ shoes, a traditional Japanese design for workers with a separate big toe for flexible maneuvering over all surfaces.
The double layer of cut-resistant fabric on the shoe upper and pile-knit sole for a combination of worker-friendly, safety and comfort are among the main features of the shoe.
Besides shoe upper, the machine is also capable of knitting other safety items including sports, medical, gloves, socks, knit caps and balaclavas to linings for protective headgears and various joint supports, all produced in one complete piece without the need for sewing afterwards.
Another highlight will be SVR123SP computerised flat knitting machine for the production of hybrid fabrics featuring both knit and weave characteristics. This is possible because of a dedicated loop presser bed that allows full use of the inlay technique, making the fabrics suitable for safety-oriented and functional use.
At the event, the machine will be knitting lightweight cut-resistant apron as an alternative proposal to the current heavy vinyl apron used in the meat packaging industry.
Furthermore, the company’s SDS-ONE APEX4 3D design system, which is the core of Shima Seiki’s ‘Total Fashion System’ concept, will also be on display. The machine features a fully integrated production system from planning and production to sales promotion. Additionally, its capability for virtual sampling is effective in streamlining the production process.
This version of the technology features programming and simulation processing speed of up to 6 times that of the previous APEX3 system.
These solutions will be available at VisiHall 9, Booth F10 at the event.
