The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), has sought the intercession of Piyush Goyal, Commerce and Industry Minister, against e-commerce firms that are carrying out malpractices.
The tremendous potential of the e-commerce industry is being maligned by some players as their malpractices are responsible for creating an uneven level playing field and unfair competition.
“The Government must take immediate steps to eliminate all such malpractices (to) enable the e-commerce market anΒ even level playing field with fair competition,” the CAIT said. It further added βThe e-commerce sector should not fall prey to the wills and whims of some major e-commerce players.β
It suggested mandatory registration of e-commerce companies, whether big or small, with the ministry.
