
China, Vietnam and Bangladesh emerged as the largest apparel exporters to the US in the month of March this year. The three countries have contributed 45.15 per cent of total apparel imports by the United States during the month.
Despite the uncertainty over trade relationships of the US with China, the largest Asian country stood tall and shared 23.67 per cent of apparel import by the US worth US $ 1377 million. It’ll be interesting to see how upcoming months would turn up as far as trade between US and China is concerned as President Donald Trump is keen to impose over 35 per cent import duty which may affect the Chinese apparel exporters.

Meanwhile, Vietnam and Bangladesh gained second and third place, respectively. Vietnam had 13.92 per cent of US apparel import share worth US $ 810.14 million in March, whereas Bangladesh too recorded positive apparel export data with 7.98 per cent share worth US $ 441.40 million.
On the other hand, the rest of the world had a share of 54.85 per cent of total apparel imported by US in the third month of 2017 at US $ 3191.41 million.
