As far as the market share is concerned, Groz-Beckert is undoubtedly the market leader in the field of knitting needles, and the knitting machines of most of the industry leaders like Pailung, Mayer & Cie., Terrot, Stoll and Shima Seiki come originally equipped with Groz-Beckert needles. “We make people understand that the cost for needles is a very small component of the total fabrics cost, no matter how high price it may be, so why should the quality of the fabric be compromised by using lower quality needles,” asserts Sanjeev. Interestingly most of the machines showcased at the DTG fair were equipped with needles from Groz-Beckert only.
Creating a brand with such a root level visibility and known for being the best in class is no small task. Since July 2010, with our Technology and Development Centre (TEZ) at Albstadt, Germany, the company possessed a future-oriented platform for shaping the future of textiles together with machine manufacturers, machine users, textile producers and academic institutions. The focus here is firmly on partnership – and this of course with the highest standard of confidentiality. These range from targeted applications consulting and laboratory services to the production of short runs and special series. In the TEZ, the company has also established the Groz-Beckert Academy which rounds off the company’s wide range of services, offering various courses across five sectors, (Knitting, Nonwovens, Sewing, Weaving and Tufting) at four levels namely Basics, Advanced, Special and Individual.
