Energy consumption is a topic in the finishing department of an apparel producer. All the steaming, ironing and pressing machines use an enormous amount of energy to produce the steam and the heat required. How this could be changed, shows the Veit Group.
When talking about eMotion, Gunter Veit, President of the Veit Group Intl., Landsberg, Germany, is getting shining eyes. He is enthusiastic about the new line of energy saving high-end products, the company launched recently. “Low energy consumption and high level performance is the future for all machines,” he underlines. The target is a reduction of energy consumption of 25 to 40% compared to the older types of machines delivered by the Veit Group. A main clue to cut down the energy consumption is the reuse of hot steam. The TUV Rheinland, Germany developed in cooperation with Veit Group a new standard for measuring the consumption and the efficiency of apparel machines. Veit, of course, is the first company to have its products of the eMotion line certified by this standard. Gunter Veit hopes to establish this new standard worldwide for apparel machines.
Additionally to its machine brands Veit, Brisay and Kannegiesser, the Veit Group runs an autonomous consulting company Veit Services, which offers among other energy checks in the production plants as well as the design of turn key production plants.
eMotion – Cuts Down Energy Consumption

The newly designed Veit 8657 Tunnel Finisher could set new industry standards for quality, performance and energy efficiency. Highlights include Teflon resin-coated walls, innovative spray nozzles and new blower technology resulting in over 40% energy savings. Veit claims improved finish results, especially with natural fibres, reduced steam consumption (up to 30% less than other models), reduced energy consumption (over 40% less than other models) and to process up to 5000 pieces/hour. In sum, this could mean a reduced cost per piece.
The double legger press BRI 222 offers a linear motion with a vertical upper buck for the best finish result. Equipped with the system, this press would realize over 40% energy saving over standard presses.
The new EXT 1000 CU fusing machine with a new pressure and heat system provides, as the company say, “the best fusing results ever achieved”. The “intelligent” power management with up to 25% energy savings and the newly developed pressure system, which provides uniform pressure over the entire fusing width, are the most important details of this machine.
BRI 1220 Final Pressing Machine is a 1200 carousel for final pressing of front and back of jackets with only small floor space requirement. Equipped with the Veit system, this press could realize over 40% energy saving over standard presses. The BRISAY hexagonal central column saves space over portal or arm designs. Meanwhile the buck sizes are available for up to XXL. The bucks can be mounted without a gap, accommodating coats.
Brand New Blouse Finisher
