Taiwanese sewing machinery manufacturer Siruba has matured to cater to all basic requirements of the sewing room, from overlocks and interlocks to multiple needles and lockstitch machines.
“Bangladesh has a reputation for being a formidable sourcing hub for knitwear, and Siruba, being a manufacturer of knitwear machines, has a natural advantage, because of which we have grown by 400 per cent in the past year as compared to 2013,” reveals Andy Yueh, Regional Sales Manager, Siruba.
Carving better profits, the company has leveraged its marketing alliance with Juki, and at present its market share in the country rests at 8 per cent. “Only brands that have deep understanding of the market’s needs and requirements, and are capable of delivering superior quality can survive in the Bangladeshi garment industry. We have spent last two years educating people in the country about Siruba machines,” elaborates Yueh.
In the last one year, the company has put technical upgrades in several areas of sewing solutions among which the D007S, is a 4-needle and 6-thread feed-off-the-arm flat-seamer is one of its many formidable ones. While D007S has been developed for general applications, the D007SX variant is a double differential type. The machine can be attached to a trimmer for lapped seam and butted seam. The needle gauge varies from 48mm to 64mm. Other variants of the machine include R, H and AC, wherein the R corresponds to curved seaming, H to heavy weight material seaming and AC to anti-curl edge. The machine can also be customized to sew specific items like panty hose (S), diving suit (DS), woven tape attach for women’s underwear (T1) and attaching folded tape to men’s underwear (T2).
Moreover, the factories can customize the machine to have an electric or pneumatic foot lifter at the time of placing orders. The highlights of the machine include a brand new sealed type presser foot mechanism for zero-oil leakage. Attachments available with the machine include external compressor type waste suction set, suction motor type waste suction set, sensor controlled pneumatic type chain cutter and tape feeding device for T1 variant. The FLG-8 attachment, a retainer for seaming light/soft materials without seam wrinkling, is also available.
Among its bestsellers are 747K-514M5-23/BKF, a four-thread overlock machine, the 747QD/ECB mechatronic overlock machine, with solenoid-type thread cutter and the ASP-EBJ100 elastic band joining machine.
The 747K-514M5-23/BKF overlock machine is equipped with an automatic back latch device that pulls back the stitch chain while sewing for perfect finish and stable tension. The machine comes with a direct-drive servo motor, edge sensor, touch panel, vacuum device, thread chain cutter suction device, and auto foot lifter. The other overlock machine, 747QD/ECB, has a unique design that completely integrates the sewing head, control box and servo motor, ensuring efficient power transmission. It comes with dual sensor, various trimming functions, vacuum device and a pneumatic presser foot lifter.
Currently, the company is developing an oil-free overlock machine, which is set for release in the second quarter of 2016. Siruba’s clientele in the country includes names like KDS Group, Delta Group, and Crystal Martin. The company intends to further strengthen its sales and after-sales channels, and R&D to cater to the large-scale setups of garment manufacturing in the country in order to register a 200 per cent growth in the Bangladeshi market.
