“We look at our acquisition by EFI as a strategic step for both the companies. This will aid Optitex in providing end-to-end solutions to the apparel industry and deliver complete solutions by next year. The company is seeing good growth and in last year it registered 50 per cent growth in volume. We are the leaders in 3D and all the major domestic players like Madura and Arvind are already working with us,” reveals M. Sridharan, General Manager (South India and Sri Lanka) at Optitex.
EFI, a global technology company based in Silicon Valley, is leading the worldwide transformation from analogue to digital imaging. It develops breakthrough technologies for the manufacturing of textiles with a wide range of printers, inks, digital front ends, and a comprehensive business and production workflow suite which transforms and streamlines the entire production process. The acquisition of Optitex is a step taken by EFI to expand control over the apparel industry.
At the GTE, Optitex launched its latest 15.5 version, which carries a dynamic measurement chart, auto-grading and is completely automatic. This new software does not need any kind of customization and anything that the market demands is already build into the software. In case of knits industry, the washed knits and panels are automatically build in the software and shade variations can be accordingly used in woven and knits. The company believes, “Made to Measure is growing in the domestic market and the 15.5 version will provide automatically customized grading and measurements of the customers.”
Optitex is further planning to expand its strengths into cutting room and give a complete end-to-end solution to the industry. The company is also planning to introduce Virtual Try-On Mirror technology, especially for the domestic market and also bring in the 3D-virtual fitting with the tailor-made concept.
