Trupik, a start-up by a group of Indian techies, has developed a mobile phone application, Trupik Connect, which allows its user to virtually drape the garments on his or her 3D persona, giving them a realistic look of the garment. Although the application works only at Trupik’s brand partner outlets, the person just needs to download the application on his or her phone, go to the store where a 3D camera will take the user’s perfect measurements for shirts and trousers to create a persona that will have the preferences of apparel as well. Then, the person can go back home and shop for shirts and trousers by virtually trying out garments using the application.
Trupik’s current partners include Indian Terrain, Raymond, Wills, and Allen Solly stores in Hyderabad.
