“Denim jeans manufacturing in Bangladesh is booming right now and will continue to do so in the coming six years,” opined an enthusiastic Johan Grieten, Manager Development & Member of the Board, Euromac.
Euromac, with its high precision automats, has been present in Bangladesh for seven years. However, for the past two years, the company was restructuring, as it was revving up its sewing manufacturing prowess, besides shifting its manufacturing base from Germany to China to evade unnecessary import duty structures.
“Assembling our machines in China will help us price our goods competitively. The better margins we have in China, we will fill up those with higher technology. We work with quality Japanese parts. All our electronic components are sourced from SIEMENS, OMRON and TOSHIBA, and the sewing head is Chinese whose most components are Japanese,” explained Grieten. All Euromac machines with fabric transport (i.e. machines where the fabric panels are moved to one workstation to the other as in the case of pocket attach) are equipped with stepping motors. “A stepping motor, which does 20,000 steps in one rotation – that is a precision of 0.005 mm as opposed to the precision of 1-2 mm which is offered by our competitors on account of using cylinders. This precision is mandatory for the high quality demand from our customers,” Grieten said.
The two-year lull has refurbished Grieten’s enthusiasm for the market, which has responded with the intent to adopt the latest developments from Euromac. “We are developing a strong dealership network and at the same time, our Bangladesh branch office will take care of service, spare-parts, and a strong technical support,” says Grieten.
Having completed over seven years in the Chinese market, Euromac’s focus has been on driving innovation and surpassing the frontiers set by the existing solution providers in the same segment. “For instance, Euromac is the first jeans sewing automation technology provider to offer three needle pocket setters which opens up new perspectives for the dynamic market with more design possibilities being achieved more efficiently and economically,” avers Johan. The company also offers automation solutions for sewing classic trousers and shirts, such as automatic serging unit, side seamers with fullness control etc.
