Dürkopp Adler Group, a leading provider of industrial sewing and welding technology, has announced its acquisition of Sonotronic Nagel GmbH, a company specialising in automated ultrasonic welding technology. The acquisition, which was signed on 28th April 2023, is set to take place on 1st July 2023.
With the addition of Sonotronic Nagel, Dürkopp Adler Group will expand its portfolio and strengthen its position in the global market. The acquisition will bring automation solutions in plastic welding technology, complementing the company’s existing expertise in industrial sewing and welding technology.
Managing directors from both companies expressed their enthusiasm for the acquisition and the potential for growth and synergies.
Wolf-Markus Frank, Managing Director of Dürkopp Adler GmbH, approves of this takeover, “Sonotronic Nagel is an innovative company and fits ideally to us. The companies complement each other, especially in terms of technology, products, and global market access. We are confident that our group of companies has a successful future ahead and we look forward to further growing together.”
Dr. Frank Meyer, Managing Director of PFAFF Industriesysteme und Maschinen GmbH, a subsidiary of the Dürkopp Adler Group, also sees significant synergies in the acquisition, “We are looking forward to working closely with our colleagues from Sonotronic. As a premium manufacturer of welding technology and automated processing of composite materials and all types of technical textiles, Sonotronic’s expertise complements our know-how at PFAFF Industrial and KSL optimally.”
The acquisition comes after Sonotronic Nagel GmbH filed for insolvency in November 2022. Tobias Wahl and his team from the law firm Anchor Rechtsanwälte continued to run the business and implemented reorganisation measures.
