Right at the forefront of delivering products aimed at improving the productivity and reducing the cycle time, the Chinese major CHNKI Precision Sewing Machine would be present at the JIAM show with its wide range of automated sewing machines, with special focus on buttonholing machines. Speaking to StitchWorld, Zhang Zhangsheng, General Manager, CHNKI said, “We work hard to design the machine which can offer higher productivity with fewer workers. For example, with CBH-1790-Y22-II, one worker can operate two machines together and in one operation three buttonholes are created on each machine.” The other technologies that CHNKI would proudly present at the fair are the MEB-1580 eyelet buttonhole machine, CBH-1780 direct-drive buttonhole machine and CBH-1790 straight buttonhole machine.
The MEB-1580 eyelet buttonholer is the world’s first machine with a vertical scissor-cutting mechanism, which enables 40% reduction in cutting time and 50% reduction in compressed air consumption. “The machine’s creative take-up lever makes the maintenance more convenient, reducing the machine downtime by a significant amount,” adds Zhang Zhangsheng. The direct-drive buttonholer CBH-1780 provides 10% higher sewing efficiency and reduced maintenance cost, due to absence of ‘rotational belt’ mechanism.
With a 20,000 sq. metres manufacturing facility in China, CHNKI is manufacturing almost 80% of its spare parts in-house, exporting to more than 20 countries. Talking about the Indian garment manufacturing sector, Zhang Zhangsheng said, “With the development of Indian economy, the computer controlled machines will be the big trend in the near future in the garment industry. To stay competitive, we think the technology providers should devote more efforts and funds to keep improving the technology of each product in different aspects.”
