The garment sector has always been one of the most significant contributors to Vietnam’s fast growing export-oriented economy – representing more than 15 per cent of the nation’s total GDP and 18 per cent of its exports. In spite of the data provided by the General Department of Vietnam Customs favouring exports of computers, electronic products and components by US $ 8.4 billion by May 2017, over US $ 5.6 billion last year, Vietnam’s garment business is fully geared to overcome the challenge of rising electronic industry, strongly feels Upul Pathirana, Head of Operations, Epic Designers Vietnam Limited, in a candid discussion with Team Apparel Online.
‘Always striving to do better’ is what Nam Viet Import & Export Investment Joint Stock Company, based in Ho Chi Minh City, is living up to, and expecting to grow to US $ 10 to 12 million next year. Team AO exclusively interacts with Micheal, the Operation Head of Nam Viet. The company which started as denim fabric traders back in 2007 had in less than 4 years, i.e. in 2011, come up with its laundry service and finally established their garment division in 2013. Today, they have become one of the largest suppliers of denim fabric in Ho Chi Minh City.
Besides the above, the news under ‘Vietnam & Beyond’, the ‘Tech Management’, ‘World Wrap’, ‘Fashion Trends’ and ‘Export Statistics’ make the magazine an interesting read.
