    The exceptional turnout of the buyers who visited ASW 2022 including from overseas destinations like Dubai, Australia, Hong Kong, etc., not to mention India, who in particular took the attention off their overseas counterparts, thanks to the diverse and massive programmes they had turned up with for the prospective suppliers, was a major point of discussion amongst the stakeholders concerned.

    A close observer of the industry, it was my pleasure to note apparel shipments playing a major role, clocking 35.47 per cent year-on-year growth, to contribute US $ 42.61 billion— of which US $ 23.21 billion came from knitwear (up 36.88 per cent) and US $ 19.39 billion from woven garment shipment (which grew by 33.82 per cent) — in US $ 52.08 billion export.
