The two-day sourcing event – ASW (Apparel Sourcing Week) – organised by Apparel Resources (AR) concluded successfully in Bangalore (India) with over 4,000 visitors. While brands/retailers of India and global retailers/buyers like H&M, Mothercare, The Warehouse, JCPenney, Asmara, and Puma appreciated the platform, manufacturers from Bangladesh – the partner country to the event – are demanding more such events from AR.  No doubt the inaugural edition of ASW set a benchmark for all. “India-Bangladesh relationship has grown stronger over the years and India is already a very important development partner for us besides being a vital destination for garment exports,” said Siddiqur Rahman, President, BGMEA.

Boasting of having 7 of the top 10 green factories of the world, Bangladesh is having one of the most exemplary lines of compliant factories. And continuing with this eco-friendly trend, more and more apparel and fabric manufacturers are setting up their green units… Call it the need of the hour, the overwhelming focus on sustainability has led many more to take the green path. In the last few months alone, Team AOB interacted with many such companies that have implemented sustainable and green practices recently.
