Women entrepreneurship has been effectively the spine of Vietnam’s garment and textile industry over the last several years. Women workforce in the Vietnam’s garment and textile industry constitutes 80 per cent of the total 2.4 million workers, hence playing a significant role in enhancing the social and economic conditions of the country. It is pertinent to note that a lot of women have not only taken on the mantle of leadership but have also been an inspiring and guiding force for many other women striving to make a mark in the industry. Team Apparel Online, during its regular visits to Vietnam, met many such inspiring women leaders and understood their vision that is taking them and the nation on the path of progress.

Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) has been initiating efforts to promote workers’ welfare and going all out to improve the lives of garment workers in Vietnam. Earlier, in 2017, FWF had initiated efforts to promote workers’ welfare by organising the Gender Forum in Ha Long Bay wherein business firms and Government officials, along with NGOs and trade unions, shared solutions to help fight and end gender-based violence.

The magazine also reviews Texprocess 2019, just concluded in Frankfurt (Germany) – 14th to 17th May showcasing latest processing technologies, sewing systems as well as an array of IT and logistics solutions.
