With a dash of androgyny, stylistic tailoring, modern art-inspired items, and origami-style details, London announces a return to elegant simplicity and women’s suits.
“Designers have been focusing a little bit more on couture shapes and structure and more of this return to elegance… and I think that will continue, as well as the whole androgynous style,” said Carmen Borgonovo, fashion director at my-wardrobe.com, an online luxury boutique.
London steals the show from New York, where floral prints and geometric patterns mixed with grunge-inspired creations and extravagant glory were prominent. Multitudes of buyers, fashion editorial staff, and celebs descended on the British capital in hunt of the up-and-coming designers and ground-breaking patterns that London is famed for among fashion insiders.
For fall, a distinct feminine impetus is added to the opulent androgynous fashion of brands like ZENGGI, Erdem, and S.S. Daley. While using the traditional men’s wardrobe as a starting point, the translation is completely feminine.
Subdued tones from the traditional masculine wardrobe serve as the foundation of the colour card, which also includes bold, vibrant hues.
