Dior has partnered with Japanese artist Otani Workshop to craft an enchanting collection featuring whimsical character-themed items. Renowned for his contemporary sculptures, Otani created a small ceramic green monster, Tanilla specifically for this collaboration, serving as the collection’s focal point across various garments.
The creature adorns oversized sweaters and subtly embellishes bomber jackets, short-sleeved T-shirts, and a range of handheld accessories, including the new B33 tennis sneakers. Tanilla cleverly integrates Dior’s iconic elements, such as the burgundy and pink Dior Oblique Toile patterns, alongside a reinterpretation of the traditional Dior lettering. The “Christian Dior Couture” tag also graces several relaxed trousers within the collection.
Otani Workshop holds a position among the renowned ceramic creators in Japan, renowned for blending traditional artistic techniques with contemporary approaches—an expertise showcased in this Dior collaboration.
The Dior x Otani Workshop collection will debut in boutiques and on the brand’s web store on 4th January. This collaboration continues Dior’s tradition of partnering with artists and graphic designers, previously collaborating with New York street artist Kenny Scharf for their iconic menswear collection pre-fall 2021.
