The official 2023 colour of the year, ‘digital lavender’, has already become one of the most important fashion colours for the upcoming winter season, according to trend-predicting portals WSGN and Coloro.
Barbiecore pink, which made its debut on the Valentino Fall/Winter 2022 runway before making its way into nearly every nook and cranny of the fashion and beauty realms last year, was all about expressionism after spending years in loungewear sets and tights, but this new trendy colour adds a peaceful flair to the closets for the upcoming year.
“Digital lavender is a colour full of hope and positivity. It’s a shade that poses that much-needed cautious optimism and escapism that people are craving post-pandemic and even in times of budget crunch; it is imaginative and creative but also speaks of serenity and balance,” said Clare Smith, a Colour Strategist at WGSN.
This particular hue of purple isn’t very new, but it is unquestionably trendy this year. The colour is indeed on style and has been for a while, according to WSGN.
