Welspun India Ltd (WIL), a renowned global leader in home textiles, has designed and produced the highly sought-after Championship Towels for the Wimbledon event in 2023. Welspun first became associated with Wimbledon in 2006 after purchasing Christy, a well-known British towel business.
Welspun has developed a line with a variety of blooms this year, drawing inspiration from Wimbledon’s avant-garde use of colour. Colour conversation crosses gender lines, which is consistent with the tournament’s vision. No matter what orientations people identify with, Welspun India sought to produce goods that appeal to everyone. For all players, the design team has painstakingly created timeless and seasonal towels.
The standard blues, terracotta, and greens were used in the process of choosing the appropriate season’s towels. After careful consideration, the club has decided that this year’s fashion edition will be a vivid hue of pink known as ‘High Energy Pink.’ This colour symbolises the competition’s dedication to embracing upbeat and energetic tones. The pink towel makes players stand out because it expresses confidence and grabs attention. This towel was created to be visually arresting from a distance. It goes well with the brilliant green tennis courts and engages viewers through their screens.
The towels are in line with the company’s commitment to develop towards a sustainable tomorrow and will stand out for their colour and sentiments. Every towel is Oeko-Tex Certified and Green.
Dipali Goenka, MD and CEO of Welspun India Ltd., commented on the ongoing partnership, “We are excited to continue our collaboration with Wimbledon and unveil the design inspiration behind the 2023 Championships Towel.”
She also expressed by saying, “Our design team invested their creative energy in crafting towels that encapsulate the essence of Wimbledon’s esteemed tournament. This step aligns with the vision of ‘Make in India’ to showcase excellence and innovation on a global level of the Indian textile industry. In the coming weeks, we look forward to witnessing the towels make a bold statement on the courts and beyond. “
