The 18th Vietnam International Textile and Garment Industry to be held in November is expected to give a further boost to the fast growing garment and textile industry in the country.
The event is scheduled to take place from 21 to 24 November at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
Like previous editions, this time too, the event will provide opportunities for Vietnamese garment and textile firms to connect with international apparel companies – thereby further enhancing Vietnam’s standing in the global textile market.
The 4-day event will see participation from 400 garment, textile and footwear companies across 11 nations including Germany, China, Malaysia, Japan, India and South Korea among others.
The exhibition is being organised by Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company, Yorkers Exhibition Service Vietnam and the Guangdong Sewing Equipment Chamber of Commerce in association with Vietnam Cotton and Spinning Association (VCOSA), the HCM City Association of Garment and Textiles (AGTEK), and the China Sewing Machinery Association (CSMA).
Vietnam is all set to achieve its projected garment and textile export turnover of US $ 35 billion by the end of this year. Notably, the country generated US $ 19.4 billion through its export of apparels and textiles in the first 8 months of 2018.
The recently signed Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) as well as the upcoming FTAs are expected to have a huge positive impact on Vietnam’s apparel and textile industry.
