
The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI), besides the Southern Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center and the Surat Techmac Federation, are hosting the 3 day Surat International Textile Expo (SITEX 2024) at the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sarasana starting from 20th July.
Vijay Mewawala, President of SGCCI, emphasised that the 10th edition of SITEX will display textile machinery from different sectors, aiming to revive Surat’s textile industry on an international scale. The expo aims to push India towards comprehensive development by 2047, nurturing productivity and generating significant employment opportunities.
Textile Machinery, Technical Textile Machinery, Airjet Looms, Water Jet Looms, Textile Ancillary and Machinery, Electronic Jacquard, Dobby Machine, Rapier Looms, Yarn Dyeing, Warping Machine, Digital Printing Machinery, Velvet Weaving Machine, Circular Knitting, and Position Printing are all on the exhibit. Machines, sewing machines, diverse printing inks, fusing machines, and a wide variety of machinery and accessories will be on the show.
The exhibition will stretch 1.30 lakh square feet at the Surat International Expo and Convention Centre in Sarasana. It will showcase modern textile machinery and accessories in a Pillarless AC Dome, with involvement from over 50 exhibitors. Remarkably, a mono mother yarn split warping machine valued at Rs 1.20 crore will be displayed at the expo.
As per Mukesh Patel, President of the Surat Techmac Federation, the key attractions of the expo will comprise airjet and waterjet machines, mono spatting machines, and digital printing machinery. The displayed airjet machines are capable of manufacturing 7 to 8 times more than traditional looms, whereas waterjet machines can boost productivity by 6 to 7 times. Fresh advancements in digital printing technology have considerably boosted output, with recent machines capable of manufacturing 6,000 meters of fabric in 24 hours.
Nikhil Madrasi, VP of SGCCI, declared that the SITEX expo will be launched by Pabitra Margherita, Minister of State for Textiles, with Special Guest SP Verma, Additional Textile Commissioner.
