Indian designer, Rahul Mishra has been named the winner of the International Woolmark Prize, which was announced recently in Milan. The judging panel included Alexa Chung, Vogue Italia’s Franca Sozzani, Vogue China’s Angelica Cheung, Colin McDowell and Gucci’s Frida Giannini. “For me, Rahul has won because of his ability to apply his knowledge of embroideries through wool, one of the most versatile fibres, with originality in an unexpected way,” said Giannini. The designer has won prize money of US $ 92,210 i.e. approximately £ 55,420 and will also get to showcase this collection at Harvey Nichols, Saks Fifth Avenue, 10 Corso Como, Joyce and David Jones.
