
Indonesia to hold “Productivity for Sustainability” themed 15th International Textile and Garment Machinery and Accessories Exhibition (Indo Intertex) from April 19 to 21. The event scheduled to take place at JI Expo Kemayoran in Jakarta is expected to witness around 9,000 visitors from 24 countries.
At least 450 participants will display textile and garment machinery with latest technology; vendors of raw materials, chemical laboratory equipment, digital textile printing machines and waste processing technology will also participate in the event.
“To sustain businesses, the textile industry need to be oriented toward export and ready-made garments with cost-efficiency by using the latest technology,” said Paul Kingsen, project director of PeragaExpo, the event organizer.

The textile industry in the country has seen a declining trend in exports for the past few years has urged the Government to lower the stubbornly high electricity and logistics costs in the country and to curb the illegal importation of garments and raw materials that have reduced local industry’s competitiveness, which was in its heyday in the 1990s.
