Representatives from the yarn and fabric sectors attended the event, which was planned to investigate possible commercial prospects in Cambodia’s textile industry.
The MoC Secretary emphasised during the event that Cambodia must turn obstacles into opportunities, boost its competitiveness, integrate into regional and global supply chains, enter new markets, improve its competitiveness, boost production capacity, link to global value chains, and draw investment to developing industries.
Known for its journey from fibre to fabric, Tamil Nadu is home to multiple textile clusters and is the country’s largest exporter of ready-made clothes, according to remarks made by R Lalitha, IAS, Director of Textiles for the Government of Tamil Nadu.
In attendance were Nandha Gopal, Investment Facilitator Guidance of Tamil Nadu; Albert Tab, Executive Committee Member of TAFTAC; and Richhpal Singh, Counsellor (Political & Commerce) of the Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh.
