Gartex 2017, a trade show for textile and garment industry, concluded yesterday with a footfall of around 18,000 visitors. The 3-day long show was attended by visitors from various garment manufacturing hubs of India.
The trade show, dedicated to digital textile printing, embroidery and garment machinery, also featured innovations in fabric and accessory segments.
The exhibitors were content with the variety and quality of visitors at Gartex 2017. Key Indian apparel manufacturers like Orient Craft (Gurgaon), Eastman Exports (Tirupur), TCNS, Blackberrys (Gurgaon), Pure Cotton (Noida), Affordable Exports (Delhi) and others visited the show. However, the visitors were expecting more exhibitors in segments such as garment machinery, fabric and accessory.
Technology providers like Aura Technologies, Tajima, Peeush Machineries, Baba Textiles Machinery India, Tang, and Unix Stitch Machines also marked their presence at the three-day show with latest embroidery machines for the industry.
A key highlight in the embroidery machinery section was the display of multi-head embroidery machines ranging from 18 heads to 90 heads. This shows the inclination of the market towards large embroidery machines. Aura Technologies’ boring machine with multi-colour threads and multi-head embroidery machines with automatic bobbin changer also grabbed attention at the 2017 edition of Gartex.
Another company, Tajima also showcased an 18-head embroidery machine that can simultaneously use various types of threads; be it cotton, silk or woollen.
Gartex 2017 also observed the increasing popularity of digital printing. Various technology companies like Mimaki India, Epson India, DCC Prints Vision, Negi Sign Systems, ColorJet India and Apsom Technologies that offer digital printers for textiles, signage, home textiles, etc., presented the latest machinery in this segment under the theme ‘DigiTex’.
In the digital printing category, ColorJet launched its AuraJet II digital printer that uses less ink and has the capability of printing on a 45 GSM paper. ColorJet is one such company that manufactures digital printers within the country and promotes Make in India concept.
The key factor behind such an impressive turnout was expansion plans of the companies that attended the fair. Companies like process house Color n Style (Noida) is investing in printing technology; jackets supplier for the domestic market, Kundan Lal & company (Delhi) is planning to do in-house production as it currently outsources for the stitching process. Both the companies were exploring latest technology at Gartex.
Denim process house MS Creations (Delhi), which is planning to start kids wear manufacturing, was looking for garment machinery at the fair. Escott Apparels (Noida) is also expanding its digital printing operation and was looking for machines in the same segment. Jinil Spinning (Gandhinagar) is venturing into embroidery segment and was there at the fair for innovative machinery.
Satisfied with the overwhelming response Gartex has received, organiser of the fair, Gaurav Juneja, Director at MEX Exhibitions told Apparel Resources, “We are very much satisfied with the event as exhibitors gave us good feedback about the quality of visitors. Our next edition will be even bigger and have more variety in terms of exhibitors.
