The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced a new initiative to bolster the global reach of its members, particularly small and medium-sized exporters. On Sunday, 15th June, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the BGMEA Complex in Uttara, marking a significant step toward enhancing the digital presence of Bangladesh’s apparel sector.
The partnership aims to provide BGMEA member factories with access to advanced online tools and platforms that facilitate direct engagement with international buyers, all at no cost. This move is part of a broader strategy to increase Bangladesh’s export potential through digital transformation and improved global visibility.
Md Anwar Hossain, BGMEA administrator, emphasised the importance of digital visibility in today’s competitive market, stating, “This initiative will help our members, especially SMEs, connect with buyers worldwide and showcase the strength of Bangladesh’s apparel industry.”
Representatives from the digital platform provider expressed their commitment to supporting BGMEA members in expanding their international footprint and competing effectively on a global scale. The signing ceremony was attended by key BGMEA officials, including Senior Vice President Inamul Haq Khan Bablu and Vice President Shehab Udduza Chowdhury.
This collaboration signifies a vital step toward modernizing Bangladesh’s garment industry and unlocking new opportunities in international markets.
