The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has taken center stage at the 29th Dhaka International Trade Fair, showcasing the garment industry’s commitment to sustainability and high-quality production. The Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) has established a Special Sourcing Zone at the fair, where BGMEA highlights the remarkable achievements and strengths of the country’s garment sector.
The Special Sourcing Zone is designed to demonstrate Bangladesh’s capability to produce high-value garments that meet international standards, while also emphasising the industry’s vision for environmentally friendly practices and sustainable development. This initiative serves as a prime opportunity to present Bangladesh’s garment sector to a global audience, including prominent brands and buyers.
Inaugurated by Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the month-long trade fair kicked off on Wednesday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal. BGMEA’s stall has attracted considerable attention, with visits from key figures such as Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin and BGMEA Vice Chairman Anwar Hossain, alongside esteemed members of the BGMEA Support Committee and other industry leaders.
Through this initiative, BGMEA aims to enhance Bangladesh’s reputation as a reliable and responsible garment manufacturing hub, paving the way for increased investments and fostering long-term sustainable growth in the sector.
