
Sri Lanka and Pakistan have continued the sluggish trend in their apparel exports to Japan in 2016. During the entire year (2016), Sri Lanka witnessed some fluctuations in values versus volumes exports.
The country registered fall in its value-wise apparel exports to Japan during the review period and were down by 14.06 per cent to 5,684,698 Yen as compared to 6,614,893 Yen in the corresponding period last year.
During the period, quantities of Sri Lanka’s apparel exports however increased by 36.24 per cent to 8,674,841 kgs versus 6,367,477 kgs in the same period of previous year.

On the other end, Pakistan too witnessed downfall in the values of apparel export to Japan and noted decrease of 2.53 per cent to 4,509,340 Yen as compared to 4,626,443 Yen in the corresponding period last year.
