In a memorandum submitted by SIMA (Southern India Mills Association) submitted memorandum to Nirmala Sitaraman, Minister of state for commerce & Industry, the Association has urged to the government to take necessary step for the textile industry. M. Senthilkumar, Chairman urged the minister to focus on interest subvention for all textile products, focus market, EPCG Scheme and Refund of terminal excise duty on capital goods procured domestically so these schemes can benefit exporters. Removal of average export performance condition for fixing EPCG obligation was also requested. In the detailed memorandum, SIMA detailed how the government can support the textile industry.
