The US coastguard inspection team scheduled to visit Chittagong Port to take stock of the situation here, all stakeholders of Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port, which is the principal sea port of the country, have been asked to completely comply with the set international security code.
Media reports maintained this citing the concerned port officials according to whom the International Port Security (IPS) delegation of the US Coast Guard (USCG) is visiting Chittagong Port to check its compliance with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) code.
The team will, reportedly, move through all relevant areas of the port including yards, jetties, container freight stations, port’s entrance area, location of closed-circuit televisions, amongst others, even if during the scrutiny, the US coastguards may also look through some private-sector off-docks to check their security status as well.
