Meet the new President of the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India or CMAI!
Rakesh Biyani, Joint MD of Future Retail, took charge as the CMAI President yesterday and also held a meeting with the team of CMAI.
Having previously served as VP of CMAI, Rakesh is also into the National Council of Retailers Association of India (RAI). A commerce graduate from HR College, Bombay, he has also done an Advanced Management Program course from Harvard.
Rahul Mehta, the outgoing president, served CMAI for more than a decade as a President. CMAI also organised a farewell function and facilitated Rahul.
One of the most respected names in Indian textile industry, Rahul has contributed immensely to the growth of Indian apparel trade.
Babubhai Ayar and Jayesh Shah have been elected as new Vice President and honorary General Secretary of the association, respectively.
With a membership base of over 20,000 companies, including readymade garment manufacturers, exporters and retailers, CMAI is the leading trade body of the Indian apparel industry.
