Pakistan’s textile exports have registered 28.26 per cent Y-o-Y surge during July-May period of FY ’22. The data was recently released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
The textile exports valued US $ 17.62 billion in July-May period as compared to US $ 13.74 billion in the corresponding period of the prior year.
Of total exports, cotton textiles’ exports increased by 30.24 per cent to US $ 2.24 billion during the current year’s 11-month period, while cotton’s exports grew by 24.18 per cent Y-o-Y to US $1.11 billion.
Exports of knitwear garments increased by 36.44 per cent to US $ 4.64 billion, where the shipment of woven garments upped by 30.63 per cent to US $ 3.53 billion in July-May period of FY ’22.
The data further shows that the exports of bedwear increased by 21.68 per cent to US $ 3 billion, and towels by 21.66 per cent to US $ 1.02 billion in the period under review.
All other made-up articles, except bedwear and towels, saw exports reaching US $ 780.18 million, noting a growth of 15.19 per cent on yearly note.
