Deputy Foreign Minister Avazbek Atakhanov acknowledged Bangladesh’s remarkable social and economic advancements on Monday and stated Kyrgyzstan’s desire to deepen relations with the country.
After meeting with Salman F. Rahman, the Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Adviser, on Monday at the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) facility in Agargaon, he made the announcement during his visit to Dhaka.
Atakhanov highlighted Bangladesh’s rapid growth trajectory, emphasising its emergence as a promising hub for investment and collaboration.
“Bangladesh’s dynamic performance across economic indicators and social welfare measures has caught the attention of Kyrgyzstan. With a big population and a skilled labour force, Bangladesh presents enticing opportunities for bilateral cooperation, particularly in sectors such as tourism, trade, and employment,” he mentioned.
Atakhanov emphasised Kyrgyzstan’s dedication to promoting closer ties with Bangladesh, to ease interactions in several areas, such as commerce, tourism, and private sector collaborations. He said the planned partnership aims to strengthen economic relations between the two countries by improving export and import routes.
Salman F. Rahman emphasised that there is room for increased collaboration between the two countries, particularly in fields like technology, education, agriculture, and ready-made apparel. Avazhbek Atakhanov expressed a desire for joint exports of clothing to the European Union, signaling collaboration between Kyrgyz Republic and Bangladesh in the garment industry.
The Minister from Kyrgyzstan praised Bangladesh’s socioeconomic progress and conveyed the Prime Minister’s desire to visit Bangladesh and recruit Bangladeshi labourers for production-oriented positions.
