
Minister for Textile, Baburao Chinchansoor announced that the department is planning to develop eight new textile parks and one wool park in the coming months. Chinchansoor unveiled the modern textile policy of the Government to lure approximately Rs. 10,000 crores of investment and would provide jobs to over five lakh citizens in the State. Large numbers of companies have expressed their interest in the already announced textile park at Yadgir which will need 1,000 acres of land, with an expenditure of Rs. 1,000 crore. For more parks, the Government will acquire land in Bellary, Bijapur, Chamarajnagar, Channapatna, Davangere, Bagalkot, Mysore and Gulbarga.
