Industries in Bangladesh, including the apparel and textile makers, who have had to deal with power crises lately, could hope for better days ahead after Adani Power Ltd., the Indian power and energy company (subsidiary of conglomerate Adani Group), decided to export electricity to Bangladesh.
According to media reports, the Chairman of Adani Group, Gautam Adani, reportedly, underlined his company will start exporting electricity to Bangladesh by the end of this year even if the company will, reportedly, commission a 1,600 MW power project in Godda area of India’s Jharkhand state and a dedicated transmission line to Bangladesh by Bijoy Dibosh (Victory Day), which is on 16 December 2022.
The Chairman of Adani Group, reportedly, made this announcement following his meeting with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who is visiting India currently.
