Peter Fahrenholtz, who is the Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh, on 2 April (Sunday) called upon the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, at the trade body’s Dhaka office.
As per a statement issued in this direction, the German Ambassador and the BGMEA President discussed on the progress of current projects between BGMEA and GIZ, the German development agency while also deliberating on the possible avenues of collaboration between Bangladesh and Germany so as to facilitate further development of Bangladesh garment sector, especially in the area of sustainability.
Further, Peter Fahrenholtz, reportedly, praised the Bangladesh readymade garment industry’s strides in sustainability even as the BGMEA President on his part thanked the Ambassador for the German Government’s friendly support for the development of Bangladesh apparel industry.
