The Fortune 500 India list includes around 15 textile and apparel companies as well as 6 retail companies, havin the list contain at least a 4 per cent representation from the Indian textiles, apparel and retail industry which feature among the top 500 companies in the country.
Compiled on the basis of the latest sales and gross revenue figures, it is a ranking of the top 500 corporates in India.
The textile and apparel companies include Raymond, PDS, Welspun India, Vardhman Textiles, Century Textile & Industries, Arvind, Trident, Bombay Dyeing, KPR Mills, Alok Industries, Page Industries, Filatex India and RSWM.
In the retail sector, either associated with apparel or completely into apparel retail, there are companies like Avenue Supermarts, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, Trent, Lifestyle International, Shoppers Stop and Arvind Fashions included in this list.
There are no new entries in the textile, apparel and fashion retail sectors and three companies in the textile and apparel sector saw an increase in their rankings while ten companies saw a decline. For the retail category, two businesses saw an improvement in their retail rankings, while four saw a deterioration.
