
To supply import substitute raw materials and accessories to producers while also boost exports and attract foreign investment, a top Bangladeshi shoe maker is setting up first-of-its-kind industrial park for shoes in the country.
Media reports maintained this adding Jennys Group is the founder of the park while underlining BIDA or the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority has given permission to the Chairman and Managing Director of Jennys Shoes Nasir Khan to establish the Bangladesh Shoe City Ltd. in September last year.
“…I have already received the green signal from the global lender about the financing,” reportedly, claimed Nasir Khan while speaking to the media about the park, which is being set up at the industrial hub of Gazipur, at a cost of US $ 100 million.
Reports further added of the total sum, Nasir Khan’s equity is 46 per cent even if a global lender will provide the rest.
