
Bangladesh’s export to India through the Benapole Port has almost doubled in FY ’22.
Media reports claimed this citing the sources according to whom huge volume of goods — Bangladeshi goods weighing 4,51,395 metric tonne valued Taka 8,475 crore were exported to India in FY ’21 even if in the previous FY (2020-21), the export volume was 2,97,049 metric ton — were exported to India in FY ’22.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, entrepreneurs in Bangladesh, reportedly, said trading with India will increase from next year due to the Padma Bridge even as they credited increasing demand for Bangladeshi products, quality of which has improved significantly, of late, in the Indian market for this doubling of exports through the Benapole land port.
