Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has allowed export of non-woven fabrics other than 25-70 GSM (except meltblown fabric).
The agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a notification and said that Serial no. 207 C and ITCHS Code 560311, 569313, 560314, 560391, 560393, 560394 non-woven fabrics other than 25-70 GSM (except meltblown fabric) is now allowed.
DGFT vide Notification No. 18 dated 13.07.2020 has allowed export of non woven fabrics other than 25-70 GSM( except meltblown fabric).

It is pertinent to mention here that on 4 July, Apparel Resources had reported that spun-bond non-woven fabric export should be allowed in 2 or 3 weeks as Indian textile industry was lobbying strong for the same.

Reacting immediately on the decision of DGFT, industry showed its negative reactions. In the current scenario, such fabric of 25 to 70 GSM is in main demand and ban on the same is not lifted.
Naveen Mittal, Founding Partner at Associates Nonwovens who is also President of ATTMAP (Association of Technical Textiles Manufacturers and Processors) and Senior Vice President of Non-Woven Federation of India tweeted, “ @dgftindiaBetter to close sir don’t make fool of us 25 to 70 is main demand always.”
