The Customs House Chittagong (CHC), with an aim to facilitate trade while also help reduce the cost of doing business, has extended the scope for taking delivery of 38 types of imported products, including raw cotton, from the Chittagong Port along with private inland container depots (ICDs), till 30 June 2021.
This was maintained in media reports which stated that same was allowed by the CHC following demands placed by businesses and their respective customs clearing and forwarding agents, in this regard, even as they went on to add that the CHC in a letter issued on 4 April, underlined extending the deadline for taking delivery of the items from the port along with the off-docks, till 30 June.
It may be mentioned here that imported consignments are generally supposed to be delivered from the private ICDs (also known as off-docks), but the CHC also allows delivery of the products from the Chittagong port to facilitate trade.
