
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) recently unveiled the roadmap to achieve the export target set for the year 2021. The apex garment exporters’ body and RMIT University of Australia have jointly prepared the action plan titled, ‘Bangladesh RMG Roadmap: Targeting US $ 50 Billion Export by 2021’.
Speaking on the occasion, BGMEA President, Siddiqur Rahman, underlined that the roadmap would give important directives towards attaining the ‘Vision-2021’; it will concentrate on the priorities and required activities that should be done to achieve the goal.

Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Home Affairs Tipu Munsi, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Australia Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, FBCCI 1st Vice President Safiul Islam Mahiduddin, Deputy Pro-Vice Chancellor of RMIT University Professor Geoff Stokes, BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruk Hasan, Vice President Nasir Uddin, and RMIT Professor and BGMEA International Affairs Advisor Dr Sharif As-Saber, were also present on the occasion.

It may be mentioned here that the garment manufacturing sector of Bangladesh has set an ambitious target to reach US $ 50 billion in exports by 2021 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Republic of Bangladesh.
