The apex garment makers’ body in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is hopeful Bangladesh will manage to increase its share in the global apparel market despite the existing economic challenges facing the world.
As per media reports, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan underlined this while addressing a press meet on branding Bangladesh held at the BGMEA headquarters in Dhaka even as he also expressed hope Bangladesh would be the top apparel exporter in the European Union within a few years.
Maintaining that Bangladesh’s exports increased amidst the crisis and it would increase more in the coming days, Faruque reportedly added that no other garment exporting countries performed better than Bangladesh in the global market even as he claimed the overall demand for apparel by the importing countries fell due to the Russia-Ukraine war.
