
Maldives is popular destination amongst global tourists thanks to its pristine beaches, and naturally so the demand for beachwear and resortwear is quite hight there.
According to reports, garment makers in Bangladesh are now mulling to export leisurewear and resortwear to the small archipelagic state even as they discussed the prospects of the same.
The issue, reportedly, came for discussion when Maldives High Commissioner Shiruzimath Sameer called upon the President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), Faruque Hassan, at his office recently.
During the meeting, in which the Vice-President of BGMEA Miran Ali was also present, the prospects of exporting leisurewear and resortwear were discussed even as the two sides deliberated on the possible areas of cooperation between Bangladesh and Maldives so as to enhance the bilateral trade.
