
During the July-November period of this year, garment exports from Bangladesh witnessed 15.61 percent growth as compared to the same period of the previous year.
Reports claimed this while citing data from the country’s Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) in this regard, as per which Bangladesh’s apparel exports reached US $ 18.34 billion during the mentioned period even as a category-wise disaggregated analysis reportedly highlights during the said period, export of knitwear was US $ 10.11 billion registering 12.55 per cent year-over-year growth while the export earnings from woven garments reached US $ 8.21 billion, registering 19.61 per cent year-over-year growth.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media, BGMEA Director Md Mohiuddin Rubel reportedly said if one analyses the single month data, it can be seen Bangladesh’s apparel exports increased by 35.36 per cent to US $ 4.37 billion this November compared that of US $ 3.23 billion in November 2021.
